FAQ

How is the price for Photo Production calculated?

The price of photo production depends on the number of hours spent on site and the use to which the photos will be put. For example, advertising or commercial use will cost more than internal communication or editorial use.

The services are as follows:

  • minimum service: 2 hours on site. Even for a half-hour photo, the 2-hour fee will be applied.
  • half-day package: a maximum of 4 hours on site.
  • full-day package: a maximum of 8 hours on site.
  • overtime: €125/hour

For photography, the service includes basic equipment such as a 24 MP camera, a few lenses and an extra flash. If additional equipment is required, such as for a studio or a high-resolution camera, this will be charged extra.

If the shooting location is more than an hour's drive from Brussels, additional travel costs may apply.

How is the price for photo post-production calculated?

The price of post-production depends on the following factors:

  • Selection: depending on the length of the shoot and the number of photos taken, the selection time is important to ensure that you receive a series of perfect images. In general, you need to allow for half the shooting time. So for a 4-hour photo shoot, we spend about 2 hours on selection. For a full-day shoot, we spend about 4 hours on selection.
  • RAW processing in Lightroom or Capture One: once the selection is complete, the RAWs need to be developed. This step depends directly on the number of photos selected and the type of images to be processed. If each image is different, each processing will be unique. In the case of a series of images in similar conditions, certain types of adjustments can be applied to all the photos. This RAW development stage is extremely important to obtain maximum richness in the files, optimize details in highlights and lowlights, optimize rendering, sharpness, correct perspectives, and so on.
  • Export: once the RAWs have been developed, they are exported either as JPGs if the images no longer require retouching, or as PSDs or TIFFs if the photos need further retouching in Photoshop.
  • Advanced retouching in Photoshop: there's no limit to what you can do here, but beware: the hours fly by!

You'll have understood that post-production work takes a great deal of time, and often as much if not more time than the shooting.

How is the price for film post-production calculated?

Post-production in film and video takes a lot of time, because there are so many stages and "machine" time has to be taken into account. With MOV files becoming more and more demanding, up to 8K at 60 frames per second in Prores or RAW, the weight of files is extremely heavy. The time devoted to post-production depends not only on the recording time available, but also on the final editing time of the film or video (30 sec., 60 sec., 90 sec., 2 min.). Post-production can be divided into several stages:

  • copy and save files
  • transcode files for editing and create proxies
  • organizing media in Premiere Pro
  • Digging
  • Pre-assembly
  • Assembly version 1
  • Color balance, contrast, exposure, audio
  • transition, cropping, effects
  • graphic design and integration of graphic elements
  • export version 1
  • customer feedback on version 1
  • corrections for version 2 and export
  • customer feedback on version 2
  • final touches and corrections
  • subtitle creation
  • translations
  • available in different ratios: 16:9, 1:1, 9:16 for different placements (Youtube, Stories, Shorts, Reels, Feed, etc.)

The whole process can take several days.

How is displacement calculated?

Travel is never included in the price. For Brussels, a fixed charge of €25 is applied to cover travel and parking. For areas outside Brussels, kilometers are calculated on the basis of 0.50€/km from Ixelles. Parking charges may also apply.

How are photos and videos saved?

The original RAW or MOV files are stored on 2 external Barracuda hard drives for 1 year. Only selected files are saved. Unused files are deleted after the customer's final selection and delivery of the final files. Delivered files are saved in a secure dropbox and on a Barracuda-type external hard drive.
