SHORT DOCUMENTARY FILMS FOR NGO'S, INSTITUTIONS AND WEB CONTENT

Are you looking for a Documentary Filmmaker in Brussels or Belgium? DPMN specializes in directing and producing short documentaries for the web. We direct and produce short documentaries for institutions and NGOs. Our approach is simple and effective, and we prefer the "one man band" or very small teams. This minimalist configuration optimizes reactivity, flexibility and speed of movement, but also ensures greater intimacy with the people filmed during the shoot. As a result, the filmed content is more authentic, sincere and profound. The other direct advantage is the economic aspect. Production costs are significantly reduced without sacrificing quality. We support you every step of the way, from initial concept to storytelling, pre-production, production, editing, translation and post-production. DPMN has extensive connections in Thailand and can assist you with your documentary film projects in Southeast Asia. We have already filmed in Thailand, Indonesia and Laos, and produced reports in India, Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia for Southeast Asia. As every project is unique, contact DPMN to discuss your next documentary. We are based in Brussels, but are happy to travel.

FOREST COMMUNITIES IN INDONESIA

People in Indonesia live in forest communities that understand the importance of forests to their economy and future generations. They live in wooded areas and work wood into furniture for export. During my travels through Indonesia, including Yogyakarta to Jeparha via Surakarta and Semarang, I documented all the stages involved with cutting trees down and making furniture. The European Commission's FLEGT program is supporting communities in Indonesia who care about the environment. Their efforts are shown through their dedication to sustainable development and their refusal to damage the natural ecosystem. These communities only use what they need, and replace one tree for every two trees that get cut down. For this film shot in Indonesia and Laos, the team was made up of a cameraman, a sound engineer, a project manager, and a translator-producer.

HOLY KLONGTOEY

Klongtoey is a very contrasting district in the center of Bangkok, bordered by the Chao Phraya river and close to the port. Originally known for its large old slums, morning market, and port activities, the area has retained its original character despite the expansion of the shopping complex and apartments. The neighborhood is dense. Along canals, roads, railways, or under bridges, every space is occupied. Its temporary dwellings have become permanent homes for thousands of people. Despite the difficult conditions, its inhabitants live by helping each other and by managing what they have. The environment doesn't matter. Our inner world is more real than the outer world. The human qualities of its inhabitants bear witness to this. Kindness, compassion, and respect unite them. The clip was directed and filmed by Julien De Wilde alone.
